In many of its street design projects, Suisman Urban Design draws on its insights gained from the research that Doug Suisman has been conducting since 1987, when he won a coveted design grant from the National Endowment for the Arts. This led to the 1989 publication of Los Angeles Boulevards: Eight X-rays of the Body Public.
